OCSSDI Memorial Scholarship

  The Ohio Council of Skin and Scuba Divers, Inc. (OCSSDI) is proud to offer the Memorial Scholarship to support students pursuing careers in marine biology, underwater archaeology, and other marine-related fields. This scholarship helps future professionals advance their education while remaining connected to the diving community. 

• You or a family member must be a current OCSSDI member in good standing.
• You must be enrolled in a college or technical school that prepares students for a marine-related career.

To apply, please submit the following:

1. Completed Scholarship Application (Apply online below – all required documents can be uploaded with your application).
2. Curriculum Overview – A copy of your major’s curriculum, including elective courses for your remaining semesters.
3. Statement of Intent (500 words or less) – Describe your ambitions, goals, background, and any additional information to help the OCSSDI Board assess your eligibility.
4. Academic Record – A copy of your transcripts for upload.

All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by November 1st.

• Scholarship recipient(s) will be announced by December 1st.
• The OCSSDI Board of Directors will have full discretion over scholarship selection, the number of scholarships awarded, or if any awards are given.
• Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s educational institution's financial aid office.

Recipients agree to:

• Provide a photo for the official award announcement.
• Within one year, submit a short video presentation sharing their experiences and appreciation for the scholarship.
• Within one year, submit a written testimonial about the impact of the scholarship.
• These materials will be shared on OCSSDI’s social media platforms.
