Memorial Scholarship Application
Scholarship to help students pursue careers related to marine biology, underwater archaeology and other marine related fields.
Application Process
- You, or a family member, must be a member in good standing of the Ohio Council of Skin and Scuba Divers, Inc. (OCSSDI).
- You must be enrolled in a college or technical school that will prepare you for a marine related career.
- Send in the following:
- The completed scholarship application.
- A copy of the curriculum for your major and elective subjects to be taken in your remaining semesters.
- A statement of intent (500 words or less). Provide information about your ambitions, goals, background and any other information that would assist the Board of Directors of the OCSSDI to assess your eligibility.
- A copy of your latest grade card showing your cumulative grade point average.
- How to submit your application material:
- Please fill out the form below and upload your supporting documents and submit no later than November 1st of this year
- As an alternative, you may also mail your application and supporting documents to OCSSDI Scholarship, P.O. Box 123, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044, to be received by November 1st of this year.
- The successful applicant(s) will be announced by December 1st of this year.
- The Board of Directors will have total discretion as to the scholarship winner(s); and the number of scholarships to be awarded or not awarded.
- Scholarship funds are sent to the financial aid office of the applicant’s educational institution.
- Post award expectations:
- You will provide a photo for the official award announcement.
- Within a year of the scholarship award, you will make a video presentation in which you relate some of your experiences and appreciation for receiving the scholarship.
- Within a year of the scholarship award, write a testimonial for the OCSSDI scholarship program.
- Each of these will be posted on OCSSDI social media
